The ever so popular Los Angeles Poker Classic schedule for 2008 has been announced this past Thursday and will be held at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, CA. Last year the event attracted over 13,400 players who competed in the various formats offered. Just like last year, the highlights to this event will be the $10,000 World Poker Tour (WPT) championship main event and the WPT Invitational.

There are 30 events planned for this event with the first beginning on January 24. Continuing with tradition, players who enter this event will automatically be competing to for the title of “Best-All Around Player”. At the end if the event the top 16 finishers from 22 of the 30 tournaments will be given points. The top 5 finishers will be allowed a maximum of 50 points. At the end of the event, points will be calculated and those that finish in the top 5 will divide a $50,000 prize pool.

This year, Commerce Casino is also putting on the No-Limit Tag Team event set to take place on Valentine’s Day. In this tournament, couples get to partner up and switch in and out of play as the levels go up. Last year, the prize pool grew to an awesome $25,610.

The WPT Ladies serious is also going to have their $1,000 No-Limit event as during the LA Poker Classic. This is event is anticipated to draw a large body of competitors. For more detailed information and schedule visit www.commercecasino.com.
