UBOC II Rocking Out Again
Poker events are simply exciting and they provide some of the ways for a poker player to earn some hard cold cash. Following what seems to be an industry staple; poker pros Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth Jr. are hosting the UltimateBet Online Championship (UBOC) series of 2008. Events for this championship begin at 8:00 p.m. EST on December 7, 2007 and will run through to December 16, 2007. The event is kicking off with a $200+15 six-handed no-limit hold'em tournament that has an awesome $100,000 guarantee.
UltimateBet has announced that the event will be guaranteed to have a whopping $2 million dollars in total prize money for all of events with most of it saved for the $1,000+50 main event which has in itself a $750,000 guarantee. Many of the UltimateBet pros will be participating in events themselves. Some of them, including Duke and Hellmuth will also be adding witty commentary to some of the events as well.
On top of the amazing tournament prizes, UltimateBet has created a leaderboard system mainly for the event. Each player that participates and wins an event will be given a certain amount of points. Those who are the top finishers of the UBOC II will get a share of $100,000 as being the top scorers of the leader boards.

2008 Canadian Open Poker Championship Is Set for MARCH!

Germany Begins Gambling Ban for 2008
Germany, starting on January 1st, 2008, is putting into effect a series bans that essentially outlaws any form of online gambling in 13 of its 16 states. The ban stems from voting by the 16 German states in December. The new laws will basically make any form of Web-based gambling or funding of games over the internet illegal. More »

Tony G Smashes at the Inaugural Moscow Millions
PokerNews Tony ‘G’ Guoga won the inaugural Mosco Millions. The event unfolded at the Kosmos Casino and Hotel in Moscow. Tony G battled through a small playing field, but the size, the competition was no joke. The players were definitely top notch. At the end, after having won the first place prize of $205,000, Tony G donated the winnings to Russian orphanages that were chosen by Poker Professionals. More »
