Tony G Smashes at the Inaugural Moscow Millions
PokerNews Tony ‘G’ Guoga won the inaugural Mosco Millions. The event unfolded at the Kosmos Casino and Hotel in Moscow. Tony G battled through a small playing field, but the size, the competition was no joke. The players were definitely top notch. At the end, after having won the first place prize of $205,000, Tony G donated the winnings to Russian orphanages that were chosen by Poker Professionals. At the event Tony G had the following comment, “I feel good just being in a position where I can give away money that I win in poker tourneys."
The event buy-in was set at $10,500 which brought the prize pool to over $500,000. Starting chips were set at $25,000 and the structure was quite comfortable thanks to the levels being set at 90 minutes. Tony G had actually arrived late due to a dentist appointment and ended up losing half his stack to the blinds. Despite this, when he finally arrived, the poker pro simply blasted his way to the top. After having arrived at the final table with only two opponents and a dominating lead, Tony G made a three way pot split deal where Alex Kravchenko, an emerging Russian poker pro would take third with $77,000.
Bauer and Poker Professionals feel very confident that the Russian Millions event will only grow, especially since this event received such a decent turn out without having any satellite entries.
