Venetian's Put on their Deep Stack Extravaganza

Venetian's Put on their Deep Stack Extravaganza

The Venetian is set to put on the Deep Stack Extravaganza (DSE) of 2008 series of poker tournaments. This event will have tournaments in February and some in June that will run with "the world's largest poker tournament." Kathy Raymond, director of poker operations for The Venetian said, "We are thrilled to be bringing back the Deep Stack Extravaganza as a full-fledged series with two annual tournaments a year and giving players the opportunity to experience great tournament formats run by a very knowledgeable and friendly staff." She also said that, “with lower buy-ins, larger chip counts, more play and great blind structures and our luxurious, spacious, and exquisitely decorated poker room, these tournaments are like no other in Vegas."

In 2007, the DSE events were able to attract over 19,000 players to participate, demonstrating that players love the Venetian’s view of “more chips, more play” for their tournaments. Furthermore, the prize pool last year had breached $10 million.

The earliest event is set to take place on February 4, 2008. Some highlighted features of this event are no-limit tournaments with buy-ins from $330 to $540 will give players starting chips of 4,500. Starting chips for all other events with buy-ins of $540 and $1,060 are set at 7,500. This series will end with the main event last day taking place on February 24, 2008.
