Support of IGREA Grows
House of Representative Congressmen, Raul Grijalva, who opposed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act last year has recently become a cosponsor of the Internet Gambling Regulations and Enforcement Act (IGREA ) this past Wednesday. The IGREA is the bill seeking to legalize and regulate online gambling in the United States proposed by Rep. Barney Frank.
Grijalva has been a U.S. Representative for Arizona. He has been in office since 2003 and currently is a part of the Committee on Education and Labor, the Committee on Natural Resources, and the Committee on Small Business. One of Grijalva priorities is protecting civil liberties according to his biography on his Congressional site.
Grijalva has stood up for a person's right to gamble online besides voting against the UIGEA. In 2003 he Grijalva voted against the ban of credit card usage for internet gambling.
IGREA had only close to a dozen cosponsors when the bill was first proposed. As of now, that number has grown to 38; including the recent addition of Grijalva.

Ad Whitelist Update for UK Gambling
Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport has confirmed that it will not allow Antigua and Barbuda or the Kahnawake Territory onto the ad whitelist for gambling. If they were to be added this would allow these groups to advertise gambling in the UK. More »
