The Asian Poker Classic (APC) will officially return to Goa, India in March of 2008. The tournament had great success during its first run with over 140 players from around the world showing up play poker. Carl Hostrup, a Danish player rose as the 1st place winner at the first APC.

Imran Hassan, Director of Operations for the Asian Poker Classic had the following to say about the APC, “We are extremely excited about coming back in 2008. The inaugural APC was a huge success so of course the planning started right after to produce a bigger, better and even more luxurious poker tournament in India. Asian Poker Classic is no doubt poised to be one of the biggest tournaments in the region."

The APC is just more evidence that Poker is spreading across the world quite rapidly. This year at the APC, the expected number of participants is expected to grow even bigger. Last year, the prize pool capped at $1 million. Hostrop, took the first place prize $320,000.

The Goa location is actually ideal for many poker players in the surrounding countries. The beach town is a hot vacation spot for those in Asia and Europe. For those of you who are fans of the Matt Damon Film The Bourne Supremecy, Goa was the location for some of the film’s opening scenes.
