WSOP 2007 Update Event #21 Final Table Results
After two rounds of play and surviving passed 891 players in the No Limit Hold’em Shootout event, the 9 final table players arrived on Wednesday at the Bluff Tent. Each of the players began with $300,000 in chips and the seating arrangements were as follows:
- Seat 1 — Don Baruch
- Seat 2 — Daniel Negreanu
- Seat 3 — Jared Davis
- Seat 4 — Thomas Fuller
- Seat 5 — Fred Goldberg
- Seat 6 — Brendan Lee
- Seat 7 — Michael Wehner
- Seat 8 — Doug Baughman
- Seat 9 — Erick Lindgren
After 26 hands, Negreanu would be the one to draw first blood by knocking out one of the final nine out. Negreanu won an A/K race against Goldberg’s pocket Jacks when the very much needed ace appeared at the river. Goldberg walked away with $9,828.
At hand 63, Negreanu, Baughman, and Baruch saw a flop of KsJc3c. Baughman opened with a bet and Baruch called while Negreanu checked raised. Baughman then moved all in which caused Baruch to fold his hand. Negreanu calls and showed top pair with his A/K. However, Baughman had many outs with his Qc10c that gave him a flush and straight draw. None of the outs came and Baughman was knocked out at 7th which earned him $15,971.
Eventually, by the dinner break, only Baruch with $1,060,000 chips, Negreanu with $874,000 and Davis with $766,000 chips remained.
After the dinner break, Negreanu found himself in a heads up situation with Davis. Negreanu had A-8 and was drawing against Davis’s pocket fives. In the end nothing came for Negreanu making him the third place finisher. Negreanu walked away with $101,351.
At heads up, both Davis and Baruch played very carefully. Over 50 hands would pass without any real hard action. Finally on hand 214, Davis pushed all in with A-4 and received a call from Baruch with KQ off suit. There was a queen on the flop and another on the turn which made Baruch the first place finisher. The final nine table finishers were as follows:
