WSOP 2007 Update Event #20 Ryan Hughes the Winner

WSOP 2007 Update Event #20 Ryan Hughes the Winner

Wednesday, June 13, 2007, nine players including WSOP Main event winner Greg 'Fossilman' Raymer faced off the 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo final table (event #20). The chip count and seating was as follows:

  1. Seat 1: Steve Graboski — 373,000
  2. Seat 2: Ryan Hughes — 341,000
  3. Seat 3: Greg 'Fossilman' Raymer — 215,000
  4. Seat 4: Adam Spiegelberg — 36,000
  5. Seat 5: Doug 'Rico' Carli — 97,000
  6. Seat 6: Jim Weir — 46,000
  7. Seat 7: Min Lee — 66,000
  8. Seat 8: Ron Ware — 167,000

The final table had some short stacks which nearly guaranteed major action in the beginning for these players will have to double up or be eaten away by the other players. Steve Graboski made the first elimination by making a wheel and scooping the pot which took all of Adam Spiegelberg chips.

Soon after Ryan Hugues was able to scoop a few of his own pots which put him in a noticeable lead. Eventually game play came down to a heads up situation between Hughes and Min Lee. At heads up, it took Hughes only 12 hands to finish of Lee. At the 12th hand Hugues beat Lee’s quad 4s with his own quad of 10s.

The final table standings were as follows:

PLAYER — EARNINGS
  1. 1. Ryan Hughes — $176,358
  2. 2. Min Lee — $97,461
  3. 3. Doug Carli — $61,880
  4. 4. Greg Raymer — $41,460
  5. 5. Steve Graboski — $32,178
  6. 6. Jim Weir — $24,443
  7. 7. Ron Ware — $18,873
  8. 8. Adam Spiegelberg — $13,923
