Hand Ranking

The poker hands are ranked as follows, from top to bottom:

1. Royal Flush
The best possible straight flush. From ten to Ace, suited.

2. Straight Flush
A suited straight. If more than one player has a straight flush, the player with the highest card wins.

3. Four of a kind
Four cards of the same value. If more than one player has four-of-a-kind, the player with the highest quads wins.

4. Full house
Three-of-a-kind and a pair. If more than one player has a full house, the player with the highest set wins.

5. Flush
All five cards in the same suit. If more than one player has a flush, the player with the highest card wins.

6. Straight
All five cards connected in descending order. If more than one player has a straight, the player with the highest card wins.

7. Three of a kind
Three cards of the same value. If more than one player has three-of-a-kind, the player with the highest set wins.

8. Two pairs
Two different pairs. If more than one player has two pairs, the player with the highest pair wins. If two players have the same high pair, the player with the highest second pair wins.

9. One pair
Two cards of the same value. If more than one player has a pair, the player with the highest pair wins.

10. High card
No hand. If no player has a hand, the player with the highest card wins.

In poker, you always count the best five-card hand. This means, for example, that if two players have the exact same pair, the player whose three other cards are the highest, wins. If more than one player has the exact same hand, they split the pot.
